Did you go on with the project? I was thinking about doing it - ditch the radio and make a proper mount for my phone there? And just bsaw that the Marshall speaker is IP44....sounds like it is build for a Land Rover 😂

Hi .I bought the speaker but didn't fit in the cubby .I note companies like Cool Vintage and others seem to remove the button section and fit separately .I sometimes just use it sitting on my dash . Let me know if you figure out a way .Cheers

I am going to buy one - I Think I Will keep the buttons - just Cut out for the sides and bottom, and then have acces to the buttons when you open the lid. Something Like this

I'm no audio buff so please excuse my ignorance but how do you power the Marshall speaker as looking on their website it states the input voltage is 100-240v and a frequency of 50/60 Hz. Am I missing something here? Defender 90XS SW

You need a small inverter in the cubby box. Enables you to charge laptop...batteries for power tools etc 88 Ser. 3 1980 -sold

I'd be interested to hear any feedback regarding using the Marshall as the sole speaker, I'd guess that it might be a bit rubish for any passengers in the back?

I'd like to keep the dash clear of radio/speakers if at all possible and go for something like this from Cool & Vintage.
