Hit & run today . . . feeling slightly bereaved.
Don’t worry, nobody got hurt. I was in a collision today with a bunch of scrotes who abandoned their car and fled the scene on foot. I’m now bracing myself for a series of nasty surprises from my insurers. Hey ho.

Ouch 😓
What were they in? Took a fair whack by the looks of it.

Glad your not injured, fingers crossed for a good outcome with the insurers.

IF they were not insured you will prob find it easy to resolve as there will be no arguing, you'll see some benefit of the insurance tax you pay. Cheers

Is that your axle oil all over the road?

Hopefully it will just be a few bolt on bits, such as axle and steering parts.

Not good to hear. Hope it all gets sorted out nice and painlessly and the car is not too bad.

Very sorry to read this.. Glad your ok.

Forgive & correct me if I'm wrong...….

But if they done a runner and no one got caught (sound like the car was stolen) And if you go through the insurance (I understand what jst is saying about using it), but wont that just put your insurance up for the next several years? 'due to the accident you had'

Id rather just cop the bill and pay for it rather that pay for it through insurance costs for the next several years.

I hope im wrong. Ive not had an accident that's needed to go through insurance, but my wife has, and when she got rear ended (one occasion) and hit in the side by a drunk driver (second occasion) her insurance went up both times, even though she wasn't at fault. And has had to put them on the insurance for 5 years - only once she no longer needed to declare them has her insurance dropped in cost.

So that was 5 years of elevated insurance for accidents that weren't her fault, that she had to pay for... I think its very unfair. Regards
Adam

seems these days it's a 50/50 chance of the others not being insured.

probably much higher than that in Birmingham. seems a lot of people work on the basis of ..... 'I used to drive a cow around the streets and that wasn't insured so why should I spend my hard robbed, tax free cash on insurance'

my wife went into the back of someone the other day. they swapped phone numbers and she's heard nothing Confused

- glad you're not hurt and really pleased to see that the wing appears to have avoided damage Thumbs Up
just hoping no chassis damage. if not then hopefully repairs won't be too expensive. Thumbs Up

@Caterham - Lol, made me chuckle..

Perhaps not 'right' but if your wife went into the back of someone, isn't it a good thing she hasn't heard anything? Either that, or the other parties insurance company is dragging their feet....

Or as you said, they didn't have insurance and have also done a runner. Regards
Adam

they didn't swap number plates etc so I doubt it's the insurance guys dragging their feet.

in this instance perhaps no insurance is a good thing for the wife but in the grand scheme I'd much rather they had as without they're just another liability on the road Crying or Very sad

Lets just say if I were governor the land there'd be a lot less uninsured on the roads.
AND I can assure the geeza who got off with GBH (not murder) for attacking the police officer with the 2 ft machete would not be running up the cost of our prison service.
he'd smoking generating electricity (save a little bit of coal) - better for the environment and society Thumbs Up
