DMF Dilemma
I have to replace a bearing in the R380 and my dual mass flywheel has done 40000 miles I know it’s false economy but I’m a bit reluctant to change it .
What would you do how long do they last it’s never been changed in there from new 2006🤔

I understand your problem, I also think about these things when I have something loose.

But how far do you go? You are changing a bearing in your gearbox but are you doing a complete rebuild? Why not?
The transfer box is out too so rebuild?
Almost half of the work to take the engine out is done too. Twisted Evil

Where is the point that you know that you have a good manufactured part and when does wear and tear start?

Decisions. Laughing Roel

Having recently changed the DMF and clutch and (mainly) the spigot bush on my mine, its made the world of difference...Even SWMBO noticed, and she's about as much of a petrol head as Greta Thunberg!

I wouldn’t think you would need to change the DMF at 40,000 but you can inspect it once the gearbox is off.
