Number plate screws are typically m6x20. Plastic ones will likely discolour again, as well as being low strength.

Personally I would fit black stainless screws with washers and nyloc nuts underneath.

Available cheaply on ebay, amazon etc. Just type in m6 black stainless pan screw, nut etc. The nuts and washers don't necessarily need to be black. Could use natural silver to make sourcing easier.

Bolt examples.

Excellent links, might get a few of those in; although to be fair the plastic bolts have not really faded and appear to be doing the job fine... but now you have planted a seed of doubt, and I'm envisaging a catastrophic failure of all of them at motorway speeds and the rubber mat sailing off never to be seen again. NAS steps generally turn to dust long before the plastic and rubber bits perish. WARNING.

I'm on my 2nd one, which is supposed to be the upgraded one after all the issues a few years back; well actually it's probably about the 5th, if I count the ones rejected at the dealers prior to fitting. Whoever manages the aftermarket accessories for LR, seems to go for the lowest price/minimum spec with all tenders...

Same here. They are practically a service item.

I would like to try the Bowler effort but it's not compatible with my wheel carrier. WARNING.

Not the best of photos because it started to rain on me but the plastic screws have been replaced with ones hank recommended from fleabay (carbolts.co.uk).

I was amazed at how many of the plastic ones were actually really loose so probably a job worth doing anyway Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up

Look like they are meant to be there.

Just noticed the mat type and cut appears different to mine.
