Northern Ireland 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Galway Green
Galway Green, 2011 Defender 110 Station Wagon
My wife and I are currently on the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin having collected our new (to us!) Defender 110.

Primarily this will be my wife's car, which maybe seems a bit mad, but she's a farmer's daughter and delusions of country living will hopefully be enough for her to over-look the tractor gearbox and lack of sound-proofing. Having spent the weekend driving 300 miles round Snowdonia National Park I love it. It takes a bit of time to get used to how it likes to be driven, but i definitely get why people love them.

The car is 2011 2.4 Puma engine, and I've yet to figure out the extras but it has half leather, and must have a winter pack (heated seats, heated windscreen, etc). Also has a rear ladder, full rubber mats and side-steps. The only modifications I can see is the addition of a bluetooth kit. Colour I believe is Galway green.

It's not like me to put up a "my car" type thread, but I've been inspired to stick this up with the aim of keeping it updated not only with both modifications and work carried out on the car, but hopefully also a few of the adventures we have in it as a family.

I've a full list of potential mods planned, but I'll take it one step at at time. It had a full once over before I picked it up (new tyres, bushes, etc) but I think I'll drop it down to a local Land Rover specialist for a bit of a health check for the bits I'll have missed. after that the 1st item on the list is a full extensive underseal, so need to figure out where is best to get that sorted in Northern Ireland.

Anyway, here's a couple of photos to get me started, I'll get a few proper photo's of the car when I get home.

Welcome to the world of defender ownership, sometimes expensive, sometimes frustrating but always good fun Thumbs Up

First mods probably everyone here would recommend is security security security.

Reference undersealing, Dinitrol is an excellent product, waxoyl is very old fashioned now.

Welcome to D2N Thumbs Up Looks a lovely original example and it seems you have a good list already. Is security at the top?

Our Puma is my wifes daily drive and the only way I could justify buying one. 4 years on this forum and we now have three Defenders! Be warned!!

PS don't show your wife Andy's (MCMA1) build threads or it will cost you even more!! Some of the best work on here! James

Thanks for the comments. Yes security is top of the list, but I just need to figure out what would work best for our circumstances. I'll do a bit of research, but I kinda like the standard steering wheel, so not sure if a wheel-lock or removable boss will work with standard wheel.

I spoke to Belfast Land Rover Centre (BLRC) about getting anti-corrosion treatment done but they have a 1 year+ waiting list apparently. Thanks for the heads-up on DF Engineering - looks like he knows what he's at, I'll give him a call tomorrow.

Appreciate that, I'll keep an eye out for your white 110. It's funny how many defenders you notice on the road a lot more when you have actually bought one!
