I really enjoy it. Mostly tables so far. Enjoy the process a lot and the quality is way better than 90% of the stuff you can buy. Mostly for personal use but have done a few commissions along the way by word of mouth.

We have a very eclectic mix of furniture from an old school desk as a tv stand to the usual scattering of Scandinavian flat pack furniture.
But I think the favourite piece of furniture we have is a very large dining table made by my wife's step grandfather from some seriously thick scaffold planks and some machine turned legs. Lime green for the legs and waxed finish for the top. @co1 wow, some nice pieces there, for sure. I like the black streak through the table, very nice!
Are the legs on the other bits available to buy, I see a few pieces with them? Though i’ll mainly be using box section steel.. big delivery due tomorrow! @rosco, any pics? The table, not the terror!  |

The hairpin legs are available online and actually loads of other styles as well. Check out Wicked Hairpins.
The black streak table is on steel box sections welded and painted, nothing fancy, the streak is tinted casting epoxy and the amount of polishing required to get a glass like finish is ridiculous! Google “resin river table” for loads of examples. They are quite “on trend” but I’d question their longevity as the epoxy is easily scratched and any changes in humidity and the wood will expand and the epoxy won’t. I might be wrong but can’t imagine many being in good nick in 10 years time. |

I started to make small chest of drawer units as jewellery boxes etc. Then I came across a branch of Laburnum and tried to make my own veneer oysters. It has taken quite a while, but I am pleased with the end result.

Scaffold board bench for the garden at the weekend, it’s finished and in use with modified legs, going to do a bench for the kitchen this weekend as my brother gave me some nice chunky bits of wood😱 Just something different from bikes and cars.

Hi Rosco. I am not the fastest worker by far, but I guess about 80 hours. I see things in antique shops, photograph them and come home and make them in miniature. this desk is another. in all no bigger the 12/15 inches.
