Agree that the engine appears to be a 200TDi

Registered November 1984, it would be one of the earlier facelift (wind-up window) One Tens.
(Yes, it's a One Ten, not a 110) Has lost its originality with the engine though........ |

Yes and they’re not asking a fortune for it. If it was all original I guess it would be twice that?

It might not be original engine, but didn’t Land Rover offer re-power kits to fit a Tdi Into earlier 90 or 110? So if it has a receipt for the engine change in 94 I guess it could be one of those and all part of its history.

It will be far more pleasant to drive with the 200Tdi in it than it ever was with a 2.5 na lump, arguably the least adequate mainstream engine LR ever fitted to anything!
If you were a purist you could always retrofit a 2.5. It is also likely that not much of the chassis would be original if the original chassis was still fitted, and on a vehicle of this type I don't see a replacement chassis as a problem. It is also a good price. If I was in the market for such a thing I would certainly be more tempted by this than most of the the other, generally over-priced, offerings on the market. |
