DPF filter theft probability?
Hi
There is an increase in the price of Palladium (Think catalytic converters not chorus girls) which means there is an increase in catalytic converter thefts.

Am I right in assuming the cat on my 2014 2.2 Puma engine is the big cannister tucked by the side of the engine in the engine bay?
If this is the case it does not seem to be accessible without lifting the bonnet. So has anyone had one stolen?

You need to lift the engine about 6 inches to get it out past the chassis rail so extremely unlikely!

i don’t think diesels have Cats, just a DPF. No idea if there is palladium in a DPF though.

And what Scotm said, the get the DPF out is ridiculously hard on a def!

2.4s have a cat, no DPF. It doesn't look easy to steal, but I've probably jinxed it by saying that. It maybe that diesel cats are less desirable anyway due to dirtier gases going through them contaminating the contents. I understand that thieves like the newest cats possible as the cleaner they are, the more they are worth. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Looking at Land Rover Workshop and other Googled sites it seems the DPF and cat are in the same unit to meet EU5. While doing research there does seem to be lot of confusion about this.

I was reading somewhere that PHEV's were mostly at risk as the cats do less work and so the materials are cleaner and hence worth more.
