Needs a bit of tlc, the paint job isn’t great and starting to flake. I’d like to make it a soft top and paint it to match the 110, just for fun, but there is something quite honest about it as it is.

That's got a lot of years left in that! I would say anything less than a under 130k on a diesel. is just say worn in. My TDi was close on 125 I think it was. The insurance said that was low mileage! They even said Christ you have hardly done any miles in it! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Remember reading somewhere that the design life of the 300Tdi was 400,000 miles.
I put 322,000 on one from New. Shortened the service intervals to 5000 miles after it had done 100,000 just to keep the sums easy and started using Miller fully synthetic oil. Checked the thickness of the valve caps after reading about various people having had them wear through. Compared with a new valve cap, the most wear on any of mine was 0.03mm.
Look after a 300 and they are capable of huge mileage. It is not a Defender, it is a One_Ten

Huttopia, your little Ninety isn't boring at all! It's very nice.

As for expected mileage on a 300Tdi, this thread is very reassuring. Thumbs Up

This 300 is on 144,529 miles and has just passed another advisory-free MOT test. (Check out its MOT history Shocked )

Thankfully, from reading this thread it seems it should be able to do a few more......

I took the pick up (and son) to Luctonians rugby club this morning for a fixture with Malvern u13s. We (Malvern) came second but with a fair few newbies in the team the boys did well. It was the perfect run for the pick up, nice lanes out towards Leominster from home, and now the hedges are being cut you can see a bit more.

The steering box is starting to make a graunchy sound, I’ve topped up the fluid but I fear it’s on its way. The miles are ticking on though, I can see 190 happening this year!

A close friend of mine bought one of the very first 300Tdi Discovery ES models in 1994, and still has it, although it is now consigned to off road use only due to the dreaded tinworm!

He got 250k on his original clutch, and has had almost no other mechanical replacements on the car other than normal service items! The car has always been meticulously maintained & serviced at the dealer and then our local indie, and the car has always been off roaded on his and other Estates for Shoots, and has done a considerable heavy towing mileage taking his classic vehicles to shows, etc.

I appreciate the post was for Defenders, but his D1 does share the same mechanics..... Very Happy Very Happy
