DTI gauge recommendations
Hi Chaps

Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent DTi gauge for measuring end float ?
The prices seem to vary hugely from £15 - £90 for what looks like a very similar product .

Thank you

Generally speaking you can't go wrong with Mitutoyo as a brand, a good compromise of cost against quality. I recently augmented my old mechanical DTI with a digital one, and for speed and simplicity (and ease of reading the thing with aging eyes) the digital takes the biscuit.

You can usually find good used Mitutoyo ones on eBay. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I have a mix of Mitutoyo and Moore & Wright - all mechanical and have all seen years of service. No real idea of digital but guess I'd go for Mitutoyo.

Mitutoyo was frowned upon when I was an apprentice but most things Japanese were considered inferior quality in those days. How times have changed Whistle Defender 90XS SW

The problem with digital stuff, is if you keep it in a cold workshop and don't use it often, the batteries are invariably flat when you need to use it. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I’ve been having a look around for a Mitutoyo but they’re rather a lot more than I had envisaged spending ! Clearly they’re of high quality and made to last.
Frankly I’ll be using it once a year at most and I don’t want to have to drive 5 miles to a garage to borrow one .

So I suppose the question is , has anyone used a more middle of the road option . I’m assuming they’re accurate but perhaps not as well made !

silverline make one and its £26 including magnet , any thoughts ? https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/
