On mine the protective paint disappeared in the first month, but the bolts themselves haven't rusted in the 2 years I have had mine on.

Is it LR parts or aftermarket?...... I am not too sure on what warranty you would get with it.... Other option would be to just buy a pair of S/S or titanium bolts to replace them with.

Those were the very two bolts which started me on my quest to replace everything with quality stainless. The day I collected my XS new from the dealers they were fine. The very next morning there were two brown stain lines below them disappearing behind the NAS step which they had fitted, and the bolts themselves had turned almost orange colour within 3 days.

These got replaced with some quality stainless ones as did the two torx ones at each end. The torx ones at each end are a bit of a devil to find in stainless at the correct length and strength. I eventually found a Swedish company which makes fasteners for motorway crash barriers and these did the job. You have to take the whole step off to replace them though as the bar ends of the step obscure one pair of the bolts. Glad I did though as I also found that the ones they used which go underneath into the bottom of the crossmember were garbage too.
