Well done! Good fun isn't it, and very rewarding when you have completed the project. I don't think I'll ever go to a bike shop and buy one "off the peg" again. My last bitsa was put together for £88, and it's a pretty good bike (not a patch on yours tho, Shimano Deore and v-brakes). I use it to nip to Tesco's and for winter training. what are you getting built, greeni?
953 geared frame to take 100mm forks, double bottle bosses, concealled top tube rear brake routing and old school down tube routing for f+r mech, plus crud catcher mount and rack mounts; all finished off in a metallic olive green with polished vertical drop out = my choice; not that i have thought about it |

Treated myself to a set of Marzocchi 55s the other week, they were cheap cos they're purple
![]() However they are amazing, I'd fully recommend them to anyone looking for a fit-and-forget fork. Not light though. |

snowflakes are propper retro '94 ish. There were always reservation that the wheel was weaker using that type of spoke pattern.
i've still got a pair of mavic sunsets on hope ti front and xt rear hubs with dt revolution spokes. mmmmmm very nice middleburn uno chainset in the pic ![]() |
