Radio Unit code?
I'm slowly building up the courage to start installing a new reversing camera and head unit at the minute. Something occurred to me this morning when I was pondering selling my existing DAB radio unit...when I remove it where do i get the code(think it's EKA code) so the potential buyer can get it working in their car? Sure I read somewhere that it may on back of head unit but surely that defeats the purpose and thieves could easily retrieve if need be?

There's nothing in the manual - At time of purchase (2013) I asked the dealer to fit this unit as DAB was not standard. I'm sure they needed to outsource the work as they didn't do them at the time...

Will I need it and if so where do I get it?

hello, if its an aftermarket unit then it is unlikely that it requires a code. Is it branded land rover or is it JVC/pioneer/sony or the like? If its another brand have a google for the user manual and that would confirm if it has a security code or not.

Ok thanks for that - it's an aftermarket Alpine unit so it's looking unlikely it'll be coded. Thanks again for your help!

The EKA is the emergency key access code which is used to disarm the alarm in the absence of a working key fob. This operates by using the door key in sequence in the drivers door.

I've had a few different Alpine units in various cars and the only thing I noticed on disconnection are the pre-set radio stations which are very simple to reinstate. 2015 90 XS Station Wagon Puma 2.2
