Really Specific Old Man Emu Shock Question
Has anyone got the OME 60039 shocks fitted to the rear of a 110 SW with standard LR springs? They are also sold with the Britpart number DA8913 I think. They are OME’s 110 heavy duty option, or standard duty on a 130.

I’m considering fitting these as everything gets a bit bouncy at back when loaded up on the standard LR shocks. I’m happy with the springs as I’m not getting much sag, just want more control over axle.

Be interested in how they are with some weight on board and if they are unbearably harsh when unladen? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I have them on the back of my 110 SW.... but with military wolf XD springs.

It handles a dream. not too harsh (I thought it would be, but with the weight of my cage and other tat it's fine)

OME's seem to work perfectly with them.

very very well.

i upgraded from std shocks after a Morocco trip and shock fade on the long corrugations.

they work well in my setup 10MY USW running mostly empty but loaded for camping trips and/or towing.

i run the std springs in it (plus air helpers for when fully loaded)

Shocks work well when loaded without being harsh for the majority or running around unloaded mileage. have run them for 40k miles or so and will replace with OEM next time too. Cheers

You probably already know; they're the replacement for the N44 rear HD as well.

Spookily enough, I got mine from Devon 4x4 as they were the cheapest! that's a first for me....

Thanks for your thoughts. Sounds like they will be a good choice for me . Island 4x4 are cheapest I’ve seen at just under £170 for a pair 👍 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Just a quick update, fitted the OME 60039s this weekend. They come with no fitting instruction so you have work out what washers go where. I used the new OME washers and bushes on the bottom pin mount. On the top ring mount, I used to OME bush but reused the LR washers as the OME ones didn't seem to fit.

Off to Morocco a week tomorrow to give them a good workout.

As a matter of interest. Britpart seem to be the main distributor of OME shocks now (I thought it was Arbil), and they rename them with a Britpart number, DA8913. They even cover the original OME part number on the packaging, which is just weird and annoying and makes cross referencing awkward. Another reason to dislike Britpart. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Well, back from Morocco. Very happy with the shocks. Irritating rear double bounce off road has completely gone. Much less smacking the tow hitch on the ground. Just feels like the rear end is much more under control. Ride quality seems to be the same or slightly better than OE in all situations. So, an all around improvement on a moderately loaded 110. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I have just ordered another set of ome std shocks for my new to me 90. Am going to run with std springs. Am going to try some pin pin rears with a prototype top pin mount. Will have to see how that goes! Cheers
