HELP!
Afternoon guys I’m after some help/diagnosis on a problem my puma 2.4 has developed over the last week! I’m not very experienced with engines so bare with me Laughing

So around a week ago I noticed a knocking/scraping sound at higher revs (over 2/2500) coming from the engine bay as off something was rotating and catching on something. The noise was intermittent and eventually went after 30 minutes or so. However, upon driving it again the next day the noise came back again intermittent but was more noticeable like something scraping. Also since the noise has come about it is taking a few more turns of the engine to get it started with a fair amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust and noticeable rough idle for around 20 seconds or so that you can feel sat in the cab.

It still drives fine and there isn’t any noticeable power loss, and the sound is still very intermittent if perhaps less common now.

I’m aware it’s not a lot to go off and I’ve probably given a bad description but if anyone could give any advice on what I could check or do (not very experienced) then I’d appreciate it

Thanks in advance!

Could be many things. I’d take it to a mechanic for a once over just in case driving makes it worse.
