Do you have to crawl over speed bumps or does it have an "urban mode" automatically adjusting chassis height...? Rolling Eyes

Looks like its at access height, if its like the disco you do not have to do anything for speed bumps you don't feel them or need to slow down. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

Not much tread left on those tyres

They look even more road biased than the 22” M&S pattern tyres that were on my last RRS! The 22” Conti’s on the RRS were quite good on greenlane type runs but the ediff had to work hard with them in mud and on wet grass, we never came to a wheelspinning halt but I was worried at times off-road on them that we might have found their grip limit, especially as L494 doesn’t have the full on recovery points built on like L320 RRS and Disco3 and 4, just a single useless cast screw in towing eye that certainly didn’t look strong enough to do proper recoveries. Maybe i’m Just to used to seeing AT and MT type treads on Defenders and older RRS’s that go off-road (and yes there are quite a few RRS owner who off-road their cars) Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

I recon that's just a disco 5 been reworked, The defender as we know it died back in 2016. This one has a lot to live up to, and can it be modified etc like ours? I cannot see that happening either! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

There may be a 'new' MLA platform, but how much of it is carried over from the Disco 5?
Compare this photo below of a 2017 Disco 5 HSE to the spy shots above.
The cast aluminium suspension arm looks remarkably similar. The subframe, what we can see of it, also appears to be the same pressed steel/fabricated item. The anti roll bar has the same routing (just above the suspension arm mount).

The evidence leads me to think MLA is a new flexible 'floor pan' to mount the old running gear for combustion engines and new/future drive trains for battery and hybrid systems. Not a completely new vehicle.
The factory in Slovakia is building Discovery and Defender, so it must be configured to build very similar vehicles.

Pretty sure I have read that is indeed the case.
