Do you know if this has a diff lock please?
Photos suggest the transfer lever doesn't move side to side but diff lock may still be fitted to transfer box on a car this age - need to crawl under it to find out though... thanks. |

Hi VVS210 I’m not sure in answer to this I’ve got a closer picture of the transfer lever and as you’ve mentioned it appears to go forward and back but not sidewards, are you saying that it could of been fitted by the owner or it was an optional/ factory fit item

Hi this has traction control and no diff lock fitted as the diff lock light is not lighting up on the dash when turning the ignition on.

It may (or may not) have the difflock mechanism in the transfer box, you'd have to check for the operating spigot on top of the front output housing. If it has this, it would be very easy to upgrade the lever. If no spigot, the transfer box would need upgrading.

Reach up and feel for the selector shaft sticking up at front of transfer box, feels about the size of an M8 bolt. It is behind and above the the front output flange.
Mine does not have it fitted. |

I thought all the last discovery 2's had diff lock? My dad's 53 plate one definitely has, however that's an ES premium auto so maybe it depended on spec?

Yours is like mine, no provision for a manual difflock there.

Definitely no difflock on that one, note the absence of the operating spigot in the area marked below. You would have to fit the front housing and associated parts off a difflock-fitted box to upgrade.
