Aluminium patch repair
Hello again. Following on from replacing the mid cross member on my 110 I need to repair the seatbox at it has corroded through where it should attach to the cross member Crying or Very sad

Can I get away with riveting a patch inplace and painting on some seam sealer for MOT purposes? I don't have access to a tig welder at the moment for a more permanent repair.

Thanks.

If I'm understanding you correctly, then i'd suggest having a look at the YRM website - they do repair kits for that, and it's pop-rivets rather than welding. Donald

there's a few pics of this on my rebuild thread - I've had this in place for many/several MOTs and it's never been questioned. Donald
