 Click image to enlarge I have this one fitted - http://www.safetydevices.com/expedition/pr.../656/1805/ I wanted a less obtrusive look, hence 6 of the mounting points and most of the cage are internal. Click image to enlarge Total pain in the arse to fit though - lots of trim panels to be fettled and unknown to me at the time Safety Devices pictures on their webpage neglected to show the slip clamp joint in the rear hoop .... just as well the roof had to come off for a respray anyway. It took 2 days to do the A and B post hoops, and probably another 6 to complete it. |

^^^^ this is a really neat solution and you have to see it to understand the work it took to fit it. if i went full cage (just have a SD internal B Hoop) i would do take this option. Cheers

Have this cage no idea what make it is as it came off a Defender 110 that was used as a site vehicle in Seirra Leone and was brought back and broken up for parts

It works for under-height signs as the front A to B hoop arms and windscreen frame are external but does nothing to protect the sides in tight green lanes, so not so good there.
As JST said, it is quite a feat to fit it properly (I only did the relatively easy bit at the front) but it is neat and tidy inside which pleases me. It's a bit OTT but I wanted to ensure that the dog was also protected in the event of a mishap, which adds quite a lot of complexity to the build. It certainly wasn't the bargain that WSD found - what a steal! I deliberately didn't count up how much it cost to buy and fit but it has seen a lot of mileage off road and I also wanted to have it in place before I spent 4 months with wife, dog and baby daughter amongst Italian drivers .... Yes they do... you just have to tire them out first! This can usually be achieved by about the end of January provided that you start them off during the early partridge shooting season and don't give them too much of a rest over Christmas.
