OMG (D44) supplied OME….fillet weld failure
Big Cry OMG (D44) supplied OME….fillet weld failure whist out in the Dunes! The weld failed and sheared off the fuel filter delivery hoses….before you ask under normal articulation ! The weld just sheared off see photos, anybody had the same experience with OME ??? Spent (3) hours getting it to the road side .

Yes, I have heard that happend with OME and others. Therefore, offroader use pin-pin mounts. They resist better. On the other hand you can repair it easily. Puma 110" SW

Yep, I am hearing more and more reports of poor Old Man Emu shocks now and have seen several to look at in the flesh. They all appear to be manufacturing faults and poor quality control. Thats the exact reason why I am going Koni. Better build quality, better finish and generally a better all round shock. I am afraid we are beginning to see this sort of thing creeping in everywhere. A manufacturer puts out a really good product and gets a loyal following, almost to the detruitment of the rest of the manufacturers and then for some reason they start to cut corners here and there to make bigger margins.

I really hope you manage to get it all sorted out soon mate and that you are back up and running at fully capacity soon.

I've come across this where the bush has been over tightened or the washers fitted in such a way as to restrict the movement.

Looks like poor welding just looks like they have tacked it would have thought it needed welding all the way round for something that's going to get some hammer.

i've only just got mine back on the road after my recent mis-hap...

i can certainly vouch for that filter area being a tad on the vunerable side. now i'm worried about my suspension 'up-grade' Shocked ...now if anyone knows where to get a standard height, pin-pin rear mount, i'd love to know... Thumbs Up

Don't know if Terrafirma do what you want but I have just fitted a set to my D2 and they are superb in every respect, road manners are brilliant, composed and controlled whilst retaining a comfortable supple ride, off road they are brilliant too, can't recommend them highly enough and very reasonably priced too. Andy

I use the 'All Terrains', the D2 is lifted by 2" but they work well at standard or lifted heights (albeit with slightly limited travel at full stretch obviously), can't praise them enough, they are superb products. Andy
