You definitely want it slightly nose-down when unloaded, as any load compresses the rears more than the fronts.

Agree. This is definitely, what I would expect from a spring, which is called „standard height“.

Unfortunately Alive does not comment on this fact, when I asked them.

Neither me, nor my workshop can invest in time and money to rectify a problem for the vendor.

So I decided, to remove them and send them back.

No, the old springs were not sagging. I did just 50k miles in 10 years Rolling Eyes
Yes, I got ARBs.
And your springs look pretty similar to mine, when jacked up. Slightly odd.

Question to you: (a) is your Defender at the same level than mine? and (b) more important: how does it drive? Any problems with the propshaft making noise due to the front lift?

@naks:
The 110 springs won't fit at 90, since they have a larger diameter (rear) and look different. And standard height springs from Eibach are only available for a 90 anyway.

I forwarded Alive the part numbers printed on the springs and pictures of the installation, and they confirmed (a) these are the right ones and (b) correctly fitted.

So, I would rule out the possibility, that they sent the wrong ones.

@roy5695:

Arch gaps were equal before that and they are not equal now. This means that the front have been raised and/or the rear lowered and/or both. And this is something, I don't like, because it influences the underbody geometry.

Fred.

Hi there. Mine had done 60k. It looks pretty level with the springs fitted and drive superb, much better than before. Not a great pic, but the only one I have:

Hi, i have just installed fox shocks and alive comfort standard height + ARB.
the rear seems to be lowered from stock around 2 cm. also the front spring is longer than the stock springs.
satisfied with the improvement but dont expect much its still a defender.
also i wanted to try to raise the rear by installing anr2938 spring isolator on the rear spring (2 pcs top and bottom) to bring the rear height back to normal.

So you want to check that your springs match somebody else's of the same spec.? Do you think there's something wrong with them? Darren

The original post was about the size difference with the alive springs and the original ones.......my alive springs are in a box and by eyeballing them they don't look like the op picture so I was hoping somebody has just received a set of alive springs so they can measure them and see if they match my set...there are s few posts on here describing how alive have sent the wrong or faulty springs so I was posting a long shot to confirm sizes of the alive springs that might in the in the long run save me a few quid in fitting costs ...

I would have thought that the springs should be changed with uprated dampers at the same time.

I'm having the same effect with all new fox shocks, isolators and genuine springs. Old hardware was shot (100k miles) and replaced, hence considering how much the old rake / stance was a function of old equipment vs. is there anything to be concerned about here...?

There was considerable lift after install (sorry no measurements), far above the extra of the isolators, which leads me further to believe it's a result of new vs old.

FWIW I've recently fitted the -1" comfort springs with Bilstein shocks. No issues and rides well. The comms from Alive were excellent.
