Hi.
anyone out there got Di2 XTR on their mtb? had any problems with the battery retaining charge? bought a new MTB with the Di2 system which seems brilliant with the exception my battery goes flat in a week of none use? I'm pretty sure that's not right - it should hold the charge for months with no use. It could simply be the battery but at well over £100 I'm reluctant to simply buy a new one and try it (after all it's not a defender ![]() battery charge was going in less than a week but a firmware upgrade improved batters. I'm sure originally (only a few months back, for a short while it retained it's charge for longer?). I'm not sure if all components had a firmware update or just some - I need to confirm. it's under warranty and all that but the shop is 100 miles away - it was a mail order jobbie so to be honest if it's the battery short of them sending one foc in the post it'll be cheaper to buy a battery than fath about taking it back etc. any thoughts or suggestions? ![]() |

I think you’re right. I have a mate with Ultegra Di2 on his road bike and the battery charge lasts ages.

It should hold charge for weeks and weeks even with use.
I have heard of Di2 battery drain caused by the front or rear mech constantly pushing against a limit screw, it might be worth unplugging the front mech (if you can) and leaving the rear mech parked in the middle of the cassette and see if that improves things. ![]() ![]() |

As martin says, check the limit screws https://forums.mtbr.com/shimano/di2-battery-drain-1052798.html > 110 XS Double Cab

thanks guys.
limit screws have been adjusted but also I leave the rear mech in the middle and don't have a front.....? seems like a new battery might be required. tested a couple more times and it's lasting less than 1 week ![]() |
