Sorry not been on here working away.
Overfilling will cause difficulty in changing gears, even cause overheating as the oil does not have enough space to move around.
Common issue with the gearbox being overfilled, it does not have a level hole just a filling hole so correct amount must be put in - off the cuff I think it is 2.2ltrs.
I had a whining from my box as it was overfilled by LR



Cheers for getting back about this. They changed the oil a second time when I took it back due to the gear change issue. As I mentioned in another post, basically all these guys do is work on Defenders, Series and Rovers, so I assumed they would be on the ball with this kind of thing. But I will ask when I take it back for some work in the next month or so.
