110 Station Wagon Roll Cage on Double Cab?
I've seen various instagram posts of a 110 double cab with a station wagon cage on it and its got me thinking, why would more people not do this as surely it makes them more usable in terms of fitting larger roof racks etc? is there any particular reason not to do it other than aesthetically?

I agree it looks good and provides rollover protection but if you just want a full length rack then you can get racks with two rear ladders which does the same for far less money.

For those without Instagram.

I like the rear seats in that DC, I bet that they are popular!

Looks better with the slope + enables you to stack anything in the loadspace, also can choose a truckman, Ifor, Flat boot lid or canvas at will. CSW cage once its on its a cage off to fit or change. Instagram @defender_ventures

Personally I think that the SW cage looks much better on a DC than the one with the daft slopey bits, and I think you can still fit/remove the 3/4 tilt, IW canopy, etc. At some point I will fit an SW cage to mine, I just haven't got round to it yet.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.

I slide my Ifor in from the back, and can remove and refit it without disturbing my Patriot rack. It's tight but works.

Horses for courses.

i'd be getting a cage regardless i think as i've seen how defenders look after they've been on their roof and its not pretty. My issue is deciding what one is better and from a practicality point of view, and in my opinion its got to be the station wagon cage.

I do see your point but i'm thinking in terms of storage for overlanding bits and bobs, it virtually doubles your roof rack size for things like roof top tent, jerry cans, etc, etc.

To be honest I do think that if you have an open back (or flat lid) the slopey backed cage probably looks better, but if you have a canopy of any kind or the 3/4 tilt on the back, the SW type seems to me to make much more sense as well as to look better.

Ultimately it is all a matter of taste.
