So, Mr Stigomery did you buy a Series 1,2 or 3 in the end?

Purchased about 4 weeks ago after a lot of searching and seeing plenty of overpriced dogs... the SII club was a great help and actually got it off a member. Bargain at £4k considering some of the awful ones I looked at which were more than twice the price and falling to bits/full of rust and a few were down right dangerous to drive!

Happy owner!

Well done Stig. Thumbs Up

Looks like a good purchase.

Have you been to a pub meet yet, or is that kind of thing not up your street?

She looks a beauty! Well done. Thumbs Up

Why do some have the double bumper? Was it just personal taste or some significance? James

Double bumper generally means ex-military, hence the big yellow bridge plate on the front, twin fuel tanks and a few other tweaks.

Mine spent a few years as a training vehicle in the Royal Transport Corps.

Blatant thread hi-jack, but since you've put a chainsaw in the pic with your SIIA...... Whistle

Great old vehicles for doing a bit of logging.

Maybe they'll meet at Sturmer this winter. Thumbs Up

The front auxiliary bumpers along with the rear bumperettes were a UK military requirement to allow one vehicle to push another in an emergency (but only if it was a military specification rear cross member, the civvy one will bend).

I can't tell from the photos if Mr Stig's vehicle has a military cross member or not, but it should have.
