Switzerland 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black
In a neighbouring village....
During my morning bike tour saw another SVX like mine. From a (very) good distance away looked fine at first glance, but when I got close to it... Shocked Shocked Not the same condition as mine for sure, outspoken neglect. How can you do that? Rolling Eyes

Some people just use them as transportation or for working vehicles. They only want it to start and stop when they want it to. It's a shame really.

Owners like him are doing you a favor EricV by making yours worth more money.

A few dents don't look out of place on most (pre-Defender) Land Rovers, adds to the "Patina" along with faded green paintwork.

But black Defenders don't wear that look so well. Cool

I could tell it's not yours. It's got different tyres.

regards the rear step Eric - it would appear your standards are dropping. Is that orange peel effect I see in the paint finish?

Wish he would. Nothing to be proud of there. Pretty sure it is a case to run it carelessly further down several more years, at one point it will fail its Swiss MOT, and then it will be dumped at the tip without regrets. No one here will even attempt to start restoring such a truck, just too expensive. Chassis looks horrible too after 10 winters on salty roads without any protection. A pity to see that happening to a limited edition.

Give me a yell when that happens. I fly into Geneva a couple of times a year (and drive through once or twice too) so could help your local recycling effort by recovering it to the UK Thumbs Up

Very uncool but I suppose it was bound to happen.

The internet is awash with body shaming, fat shaming, slut shaming, poverty shaming etc. Now on Def2 we have rust shaming.

I dont see an issue with it, their vehicle and entirely up to them how they use it! However it just shows how poorly the defender holds up without regular rust proofing and management of.the corrosion...pretty disgusting considering the cost of them compared to alternative commercial models

If that was my vehicle I would be pretty p155ed off if somebody photographed it like that and then put the photographs on the internet and then criticised the owner - you should be ashamed !

Ashamed? Thud
Don’t get excited. My own truck has been photographed numerous times, with number plates and all (not visible in my pictures of this SVX here), and can be spotted on quite a few websites. So what? Plenty of members here occasionally photograph Defenders not theirs, and then post the picture on here. Modern times you know.

Are you so far up your own arse that you feel the need to photograph someone else's vehicle and post the photographs online to shame the owner?

Outspoken neglect?

What is wrong with you?

My landy has bumps and scrapes and is used to do a job, whether that be getting to work, at work or towing horse trailers and camping.

What i don't expect is someone to feel the need to get off their bike, and start taking pictures of it so they can feel good about themselves on a forum.

Grow up ffs.
