Water leak.
We had our first lot of rain since we took delivery of our 90. It looks like I have a leak which is coming through the seal where the hard top sides meet the tub. It looks like the seal is pushed in 2 or 3mm in one place and the seal is wet on the other side in this place. How big a job is it to lift the sides and replace the seal or does anybody have any other ideas to fix it? Thanks

It looks like the sides aren’t clamped down hard enough, check that the bolts aren’t slack first.

Only the middle one was slack but the ones either side were all pretty tight. There's only the one in the back corner and the other near the driver's door isn't there?

I tightened this up but it doesn't look strong enough to make a huge difference

These were both tight...

Looks like I could use this are to fix it stronger but not sure if I should...

Welcome to the world of defender ownership. Typically most leak at the front into the footwells so hopefully yours will be a quick fix.

This is what I've chosen to do as well. I've run some sikaflex down there, hopefully that does the job.

I did my mine with Sikaflex about 5 years ago along with the roof joints and its still sealed. To make a neat job I used masking tape (the blue of green stuff which comes off easier ) about a 1/16" away from the edge run a medium bead of sealer along the whole length and using a "thumb" which you can buy cheap ran that along the whole seam in one go then pull off the tape before the sealer has time to start to cure. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

I've also used black tiger seal all the way around. I ran my (latex gloved) thumb round with a little white spirit to get a nice smooth finish. Not had any issues since and i think it looks quite lovely.

Here's a picture
