Thanks Darren.

Does anybody know if I’ve fitted the top bit correctly?... it seems secure but the instructions were pretty poor. There’s a rubber seal which is fitted around it and then clamped up around that.

The drivers side window winder has been sticking at the half way point. I need to take the door apart as I have a central locking kit coming soon and I also wanted to install some sound deadening in the doors too.

Once the door card was off I couldn't see anywhere in particular it was sticking so I sprayed a fair bit of WD40 around and loosened off some of the fixings to see if it made a difference

All was solved when I adjusted the fixing on the right and it now moves smoothly

The door also kept shutting on me so I tightened up the fixings just inside the door. Now stays open.

I thought that was going to be a lot trickier but it was nice easy fix.

Lastly I installed some Silent Coat on both doors and on the inside of the door cards. The door cards will stay off until the central locking kit arrives.

Did you find it difficult to install the silent coat inside the doors? It looks like it could be tricky to install behind the window mechanism etc. Also, I'd never thought to install some on the door card as well as the door. The soundproofing is next on my list so I'll be installing it at some point this week with a bit of luck!

Love the Defender and the channel btw, keep up the good work!

It's really easy to fit Silent Coat behind the mechanism, the 'sheets' just slide up behind. There seems to be plenty of clearance. I don't have electric windows so I'm not sure if that would make a difference. I would pick up some of the plastic clips that hold the door card on if you haven't taken the door card off before. A couple of mine snapped. They're not very expensive. Makes a nice difference to the feel the doors though once it's done.
