99 relay issues

I've just installed an eBay special VW .99 relay to my TD5, however when I switch the wipers on intermittent is the same speed as a standard wipe speed and even when I've returned the stick to the off position the wipers continue to wipe until I cut the power.

I've searched and found a few posts that had the same issue but i didn't find a solution.

Has anyone come across this? I've popped the red Lucas back in for now.

Assuming the wipers park normally with the original relay in, it sounds to me like you've got a faulty 99 relay.
