Jeep truck concepts 2019.
First proper pictures are out today of the EJS 2019 concepts.
As you might expect, they're concentrating on the new Gladiator, to drum up some interest and get feedback.
I'll get a closer look next week, hopefully chance to sit in all of them.

This one looks vaguely familiar. Have the Mopar Underground team been searching D2.net for ideas? Bow down

They actually look quite smart (not the orange so much) better than the new Defender I expect

I agree, Jeep are proud to display a badge to say their vehicles are 'Trail Rated'. No doubt LR will put a sticker on the new Defender saying 'Asda Rated'.

The recently shown mule (TFL You Tube channel) for the Ford Bronco looks interesting. Ford are claiming it will be off road ready. Solid rear axle, IFS. Both Dana axles. 33 inch tyres as standard not stupid 20 inch low profiles we have seen. Plus the flexibility build into the vehicle to encourage outdoor use.

Also interesting in this video the competition for the new Bronco is the Toyota 4 Runner and Jeep Wrangler - no mention of the Defender. The US want at least one solid axle, why does LR not understand that......

I don't think the Gladiator will come to the UK, sadly. It is huge by our double cab standards, approximately 139" wheelbase and big rear overhang. Jeep/Dodge don't seem interested in importing commercial vehicles to UK. Then there's the question of which engine, both the V6 petrol and diesel versions of the Wrangler are not coming to Europe.
It was the most popular vehicle on the Jeep stall at Moab EJS last week. Will post pics when I get them off the camera.
That hard top would be good.

Lots of people were interested in the J6 blue 118" pickup. A more sensible size, but only 2d and not likely to make it to promotion.

I guess they may consider it for the UK.
I did read somewhere they were keen to increase Wrangler volume over the volumes from the previous model.

Gladiator could be a way to increase their presence without significant dealer investment in additional service kit.

Most of the work will have been done already to produce a right hand drive version for the Wrangler, so presumably not a lot of tooling would be needed to produce a RHD Gladiator.

The 2.2 4 pot diesel seems well up to the job in the Wrangler, so it should cope in the Gladiator.
With 200HP and 450NM of torque, it should be OK.

Fingers crossed.

From what I’ve seen online it’s very capable off road, front and rear lockers plus it even looks like a Defender with that canopy and roof rack combo!
