Hopefully, if I get chance, will pop down and have a crack on the Avon for pike/Zander/perch this evening for a couple of hours, just so busy atm, seems like I need to be in 3 places in once

One of the funniest fishing jokes I have heard at 2minutes 10 seconds on the vid, in fact, the whole video is hilarious.
For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

I'm off to Harry Ramsdens if that counts as fishing. Our village has a river and a canal running through it as well as two carp lakes so I guess they'll all be out there dangling their worms. Defender 90XS SW

Never got on with river fishing, although I know plenty who love it.
What are the rules around the course fishing season. I used to do a bit of canal boating and those Guys (nearly always blokes) were fishing on the canal network throughout May. I would like to try sea fishing. No trees to catch the fishing tackle on either on the beach or at sea. |

All rivers closed from March 15th till June 16th (unless fly fishing for trout) - it used to be canals were too, but now most canals are open to fishing all year round.
Anyway, spent a couple of hours this afternoon on the Dove. My little piece of heaven. Stick float. Centrepin. A big chub, a few nice grayling and a couple of small brown trout. Lovely 😊 |

A quick question for you fishing experts. I have a Richard Walker split cane carp rod which I have had for about 50 years but never used, I swapped it for a split cane fly rod. It still has its original rod bag which has a couple of holes in it. It looks as though it wasn’t much used before I acquired it. So to the question, any idea what it may be worth?

I guess, like everything else, it depends on who the maker is/was and it’s condition. I’m not sure what the market is like for these rods.
A quick Google landed this (https://vintagefishingtackle.co.uk/product-category/rods/split-cane-fly-rods/) to give you some sort of ballpark idea. Your R Walker carp rod was probably worth £250-300, if in good nick. Might be worth getting it valued. Good luck! Ian |
