Leaving defender 2
Well lads, I have had to change my plans for a replacement landy, after 4 have fell through over last week and at the weekend. Rolling Eyes three were sold last week, I had just secured the funds with the bank too Rolling Eyes and the last one I rang for on Saturday, some one put the money down today. So I have decided to give the cash back to the bank and move on with plan B. Which was get another classic car or something quirky , I was going to get one this year funny enough, as a bit of a project for me and my dad. This happened to pop up forsale around the corner for me, an old fella has had this for years, he has just bought a new leaf, With this been the age and type of car, No dealer would even take it and its too good to scrap. Plus we have spares for this too, up in the loft when my dad ran one nearly 20 years ago, in the same colour but on an E reg. This one has been garaged all its life and its not in bad conditon, for a 1993 plater. Pretty nippy mind for a 1.6, caught me out with it been rear wheel drive too, Had some right odd looks, going sideways coming off the arounderabout on a test drive. Needs afew things but for £700, due to the classic car status, its not bad at all.
brought back memories to me and my dad!! Very Happy

aww shucks that's a shame, that you are leaving I mean not the choice of new car.

Anyways good luck for the future I am sure we will see you back one Day.

It looks like the scroats that pinched your Defender have given you more problems than we imagined. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Sorry to hear that Procta.

It's pretty depressing when you consider why you have been left Defenderless. I am not sure if mine got nicked whether or not I would try to buy another?

Is that a Lada?? I am surprised any are left?

I hope this is not an April Fool because they are null and void after midday Whistle

I hope you keep dipping back to DEF2. I for one will miss your posts Thumbs Up

That is a Lada, isn't it? My mates Dad was a Motor Engineer and he bought one back in 1989. It was bright orange and was the saloon rather than an estate. He got it from a teacher and he maintains it was one of the best cars he ever owned and an easy fix. The tool kit was unbelievably good with a stirrup pump, tyre pressure gauge and some decent spanners.

I hope you enjoy, and yes, it is quirky Very Happy

And a 'KEX' registration I believe is a Norfolk registration.

I think Blue Boar garage in Norwich used to be the Lada agent.

was at work all day sadly, but I thought I would try anyway. Whistle
going back to what you said about your mates dad owning one, the one my dad had never gave any trouble at all. He ended up giving it away to family down south, theit daily had packed up and they couldnt afford to fix it just yet. I think my dad may still have a haynes manual for it too. My mate tried to bid on one about 6 years ago, out bidded of course, But i recon he would have Censored him self he had won it Laughing I was so tempted to message the seller to see if he would play a joke on my pal. and say all the rest of the bidders have pulled out, come and collect it. Laughing

Also i was over the moon when lada got second place in the world touring car championship in 2014, you should have seen the driver and team jump for joy! Great to see after their hard work, and the replacement car they ran the following year ment buisness and gave the upper manufactures a right old hard time. Shame lada pulled out, i would love to see them back in motorsport!
The older version of this model was a good rally car too Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
