As part of my ongoing jobs new shocks/springs etc I changed the steering damper today.
Firstly the old damper on removal can be compressed but it does not extend back - I assume it is shot to pieces? Secondly I can find no figures for what torque is required for the bracket end Nyloc nut - anyone any ideas? You just hold the thread "bolt" with a hex key & then tighten up the nylon with a ring spanner. I can't see that it is a critical torque figure but I like to do things right TIA Guy May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |

Standard steering dampers are oil filled and so have resistance both directions but won't return to fully extended
