[Sold] My Wife’s BMW for sale, an oldy but a goody!!
I know it’s not a Defender or a Landrover but I thought I would see if my wife’s car was of interest on here as it’s a little bit different....

It’s a 1999 BMW 523i SE in silver with grey interior and 115 k miles.

It has a full main dealer service history from new and has been over serviced ie every year and not on the indicator on the dash. We bought it 8 years ago from the local BMW dealers and it had one owner before us and like him we kept the car garaged all of its life. We have the original bill of sale, the original book pack, all three original keys. We also have receipts for everything spent on the car since new which is about three inches thick!

I’ve just had it run through the dealers this week to get everything sorted and checked out for sale, it needed a cam position sensor and a couple of bulbs but apart from that it had the all clear. It was serviced 3 months ago and at the same time had 4 new tyres. Absolutely everything works on the car including the air conditioning. All the dash works with no pixel issues or warning lights on.
The interior is mint with no damage or wear, the outside is original and has never been painted. I’m really fussy about my cars but I thought originality was better than covering anything up. It has a few stone chips on the bonnet, and a small 5p size rust spot on the offside rear arch. There is no rust anywhere else and the bodywork is superb otherwise.

I will get some pictures up at the weekend if anybody is interested. It is super reliable and really clean, would make somebody a great cheap very presentable runaround and is good for another 200k miles if looked after!

It is MOT’d till October 2019.

I’m looking for £1250 or a sensible offer. Or some cash and an updated intercooler or turbo for a td5!

Cheers

Jez

Hi Greeni, will sort the photos the weekend.

Funny that comment, I sold my 2002 8 years ago when we bought this one for £4K!
Which was equally as mint! I dread to think what it is worth now.

Lots of love for the E39 here. Last of the properly made BMWs.

I agree on the best made BMW’s. I can honestly say that it has never ever broken down or had any issues apart from wear and tear items.
It’s a shame to sell it really, but no room with the kids cars everywhere!!

I see it’s on eBay at near asking already, I bet it goes quite a bit yet as “youngtimers’” like this are in demand.

Shall monitor Very Happy

Yes I was quite surprised at the £1100 plus on the first day. I’d still take £1250 from a forum member though of anybody is interested?
It’s had all of the rear bushing done as well, so everything that goes wrong on these has been replaced with genuine parts.
