confused - Glow plug timer/ starter relay and Crank
Hi Defender net,

I am rewiring my TDI300 pre- ECU defender as the there are a few additions as the old wiring we a nightmare. Looking at the primary circuit (start and charge).

the question is around Crank (rd/Wh) connection - I am told the crank needs to be connected to the starter relay (ok that makes sense) as well as the timer solenoid. ( when the ignition is turned on the glow plugs heat, when the crank turns .....eh... what) I thought the crank would stop the timer to allow more power to the cranking. I am advised it also should energise the glow plug timer as well as it cranks....??????)

Equally when wired as per the diagram below the crank is live .....without turning the key - a little lost here?
