Can anyone confirm that Narvick black is non metallic?? The adventure grille and surrounds come Santorini which I have on the roof but trying to decide if I should match everything Santorini or repaint all Narvick? I only have the rear door and arches to paint Santorini… Andy

Did some digging so the Trophy one had the headlight surround intake from the Works V8 and also the wing top as it was a prototype used for the press release. The Trophy 1 and 2 builds only have the wing top. I cant get this from LR so made up a design pretty close from some pictures and will print it over the next day or so.

26hr print in ASA with no disaster is like winning the lottery, Just need to finish and then paint. Will need to track down some original wing top & side covers if anyone has some? and will paint them all together to match. Not sure to be honest. If I could figure out a way to cut out the grille in the headlight surround I could keep my current one and just stick this on the wing for show. Andy

Bit of a chew, but could you print the entire headlight surround with the vent holes in it? Failiting that, cnc a steel template, clamp it on each side, drill out the centre of each hole then push a square broach of the appropriate size through each?

Printed intake looks great!
For a one-off, laser cutting would probably be the most cost effective. No tooling required. A trial with a few holes in an old headlight surround would show the finish result. |

Had thought about water jetting but turns out the works surround is actually just a round slot cut out and then mesh fixed from behind so not a new design tool. That’s easy enough to do. Made an offer on eBay this morning for some old surrounds to play about with. Andy

Friend kindly ran this last night for me, very pleased. After all the messy work is complete I will blast and anodise black, then skim the boundary face.

Spent a lot of time prepping this, took it as far as 2000 wet grit so ready for a coat of Satin paint to match the standard wing and side covers.
