Going retro with my new Keswick farmer spec 90.
Hi. Can't sleep so thought I'd bore you all to death with tales and a few pics of my new 90.
So, picked it up just over a week ago - 15 plate, 15,000 miles on the clock - looking pretty basic.

First item on the shopping list was to slap a pair of Melvill and Moon seat covers on and must say they look mighty fine.

Then found a set of 5 HD steel wheels, freshly powder coated in Keswick green for Ģ250 on the Bay. Couldn't say no so trekked 150 miles across the country to pick them up and this is the result....

Not sure on front end. Got basic black plastic grille and although I had initially intended for a retro facelift with a heritage grille, there's something about its 80s utilitarian look I quite like.

Next things now need to be roof rack and tent for road trip to Lofoten Islands in Norway (although I have splashed out on a couple of Exmoor Trim side storage canvas panels for the back to match the seat covers.

Great looking Defender especially as you now have Wolf's on it. I put sand coloured seat covers in my 15 plate Keswick Green SW, also go Wolf's for mine. I'm in the keep it simple camp with tasteful practical mods. If you want to see what I think is a fantastic retro conversion, look what Fun Rover did with their Td5, on their web site.
Good luck with your new toy.

Cheers guys. There really isn't much left to do to. The one thing I'm after is a decent, plain, single din head unit that doesn't have dot-matrix unicorns dancing over it. Something like the old Blaupunkt stereos but with bluetooth and iPhone USB connection. Everything on the market seems designed for some kid in a Citroen Saxo. The owner before me put in a Clarion that should carry an epilepsy warning. It's not good.

Just bought this mechless Alpine unit;

Fantastic sound, bluetooth, handsfree, no CD and best of all no dancing unicorns moving across the screen. Good price too. Thumbs Up

They're Melvill and Moon from Nene Overland. Not cheap. Not cheap at all but I love em and still cheaper than swapping the vinyl seats out for something more deluxe!

Just got some matching Exmoor Trim rear canvas storage pouches for the side panels. Very pleased with them.
