Interior dash lighting wire colour
As I have a Bluesea 12v socket now the interior dash lighting plug is now free as the 12v socket is not illuminated.
I may as well use this to easily connect to my HU dimmer function. (Dims HU lighting automatically at night.)

I would need to extend this feed, so a colour and diameter match would be preferable

IIRC, this wire on the 12v socket is Orange with white tracer.
Is it 1mm2 dia? (Guesstimate.)

Could anyone kindly confirm? If so I'd very much appreciate it. (Saves me having to wait until I can take dash out yet again.) Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Illum is Red with Orange

12V power to socket is White with Orange.

Make sure you're not powering your socket from the illumination circuit Shocked  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

No the socket is certainly wired correctly.

Is that on a 2.4?
I am probably thinking of the HU end for illumination which is definitely orange with white tracer.
So the 12v socket illumination is red with orange tracer.

I suppose I could use that or the orange with white tracer like the HU, both does the same job.
It's just for identification, I should have checked it the other day when I had access.

Nothing more annoys me than just random red and black feeds all over the place, it just makes the idenitication a nightmare unless there are cable markers etc. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Just checked and yes, ISO colour at the head unit for illumination is Orange with White.

It's been Red and Orange for a long time Smile  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
