2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
new Puma and a few questions
Just picked up my 110 SW XS Utility on Friday and have been looking over the vehicle.

Over all so far every pleased with the vehicle havent had much time driving it yet so time will tell.

I have a couple of questions that views on would be appreciated.

1. i have a sensor(?) wire on the drivers side of the G box that is not plunged into anything. there is a specific holder for the wire and a white plastic blanking plug fitted in where i assume the sensor would go - what is it? should it be fitted?

2. mine is a 110 XS SW with the utility pack option. Does anyone know if it should or should not have the small side windows are the rear either side of the rear door?

3. Non Cat down pipes. Has anyone fitted one? did it make any difference.

4. Mid straight through pipes - same question as 3 really.

5. Are all 110 vented front discs?

6. Does anyone have any pictures of the seat mountings for the two very rear fwd facing side seats? i have two seats and a box of parts so fitting is looking 'interesting'

7. Has anyone come up with a way of protecting the carpets on the rear wheel arches in the very back? ie rubber mate wise or other solutions? and found ways of keeping it in place. My thinking at the moment is to board the sides and tops of the seat boxes with ply as i can see the carpet getting trashed very quickly.

8. Anti roll bars - i have a challenge 90 and a 90td5 and used to run a 300tdi 110. none of these have or had antiroll bars. the new vehicle will do a fair amount of track work due to my business, do users recommend removing the antiroll bars to increase articulation or is the gain minimal. i would consider myself used to driving the vehicle without them fitted so dont see this as a cause of concern.

9. 2nd row seat covers? LR ones are alot of money, any recommendations for good fitting and wearing suppliers of 2nd row seat covers? was going to try Exmoor trim but couldnt find anything on their website about the covers.

Thank you in advance for any options/help/answers given.

Heres looking forward to a reliable 10yrs motoring with the Puma. Cheers

James

8. personally on a 110 i would leave them on.
9. EXMOOR now supply to trade and not direct to public. They will have what you are looking for tho. or try PADDOCK 4X4 or similar out of one of the glossy mags that seem to be full of adverts and not much else really. RANT !

And as for the last bit !
i am hoping i will never have to buy another ! heres hoping it will last and last ! DEFENDER XS CSW 08 TONGA GREEN

well Emoor trim advertise

Waterproof seat covers > 2007

which i took to mean greater than 07MY ones so ordered some through OEC and guess what they mean everything except 07MY Def!

So still on the hunt for waterproof seat covers! Cheers

if the moral is phone and ask first - i did........ they just got it wrong and admitted that

i would say

A > B means to me A is greater than B or B is Less than A. in my case i took A to be seat covers and B to be 2007 and got it wrong, anyway slightly OT! Cheers

well seat covers sorted LR ones coming this week

rear window issue should be resolved on Tue - dealer is fitting the little side windows FOC as they said it came with them

rear anti roll bar is off, cant say i notice that much difference but then its not driven hard. may take front off with time.

Got some nice Southdown side sills and a detachable tow kit fitted now as well. just a bumper, front axle guard and steering guard to add then!

Have also made up some ply seat box covers to protect the very rear

so just EGR and mid pipe replacements i am thinking about now. from previous experience none of this seem to make much difference on a vehicle in std tune, it only seems to be chipped ones that benefit so i am keen to hear from anyone with a std vehicle who runs them and found an improvement in pickup or mpg. Cheers

If you are keeping the car in standard tune the Decat front section isthe best bet for the first exhaust mods.
This will help with turbo spool and free up the breathing of the engine.

Regards Pete.
