Friday Gatesgarth
The weather was too poor for cameras, but here is a great shot (not mine) of the start of the route. The start of the pass is shown at the bottom of the shot just winding up the mountain. Gatesgarth is only open a few days a year and in green lane terms is not really for the faint hearted as there are some pretty steep drops and some tricky sections which have the potential to damage vehicles. Still, this shot shows how dramatic a place it can be. The track goes up and over the position this was taken from.
