Reverse lights on as soon as ignition on.
My reverse lights are sticking on. As soon as ignition is on. They come on.

I have a switch that’s on permanent live that will turn reverse light and works lights on if ignition is on or not. This has been fine for 2 years.

With ignition off. If I press the switch to turn work lights and reverse light on I can hear fuel pump prime etc as if ignition is on.

This suggests to me a back feed to ignition or a wire broke to ignition live, any suggestions? Thanks

Sound like it, big 4mm white wire feed from the ignition switch down to the fuse box under the dash

Without knowing how you've wired it up, it's difficult to offer a detailed answer. It's sounds very much like an earth fault , though. I'd start by looking at the earth wiring for your additional switching. Darren

I'm with Mr Anorak, sounds like an earth issue to me.

Thanks guys. Done some more digging.

Swapped switches. Same problem.

Disconnect switch fully. Same problem.

So I’m currently at. Dicky wire or nackered reverse switch. Light still permanently on with ignition on.

Disconnect the reverse light switch on the gearbox and see what happens. If the switch has failed short circuit you will get exactly this effect.

Just recently I had an issue with dash and lights coming on when applying the brake pedal, When stationary it would appear as if the ignition is on.

After some consultation with an online search engine, it turned out to be a corroded connection in the rear osr stop light.

As the guys above more likely a troubled earth connection.

All lights are LED with new plugs etc. I’m hoping it’s not an earth issue with one of them.

To gain access to reverse switch, can anyone suggest best way to get to it. TD5 110. Thanks
