Theres not many ways of stopping them when they get like that. You can try and stall it, but I'm guessing if its revving its nuts off it'll be hard to do that, blow a fire extinguisher down the air intake so it can't breathe or just wait for it to go bang. Think this one will have gone bang when it finished burning its own oil, so will probably be seized like a good 'un.

i wonder if a plastic bag over your snorkal would be enough to stop a run away like that, i know laurie, from here and other forums, tells of catching a plastic bag with his snorkal and discribes it as the front end diveing so hard if felt like the rear was going to get air born,

any thoughts?
