Diesel leak n/s of engine
This has just appeared in last week or two. Diesel all over bottom near side of engine. I’m fairly sure it is diesel not oil. Top of engine is clean. I can’t see much looking up from underneath so cannot detect the source. Any ideas?

Probably not connected, but sometimes when I start the car it doesn’t run for more than a second. Then I start it again and it’s fine. Seems to drive ok - no obvious change.

These engines are new to me so excuse my lack of knowledge. Is this accessible? I would have thought it near the top of the engine but it’s clean up there.

from this you have a small fuel Leak losing fuel from Syston on start up it needs build presser for engine fire up

Thanks for the pictures- much appreciated. Given leak seems to be lower down I think the last one is most likely. And it could be the starting issue is linked. I will have a good hunt around - probably have to be next weekend now.

I’ve had a good search around. Top of the engine is clean - it seems to coming from the bottom/side of the fuel pump. It is difficult to see exactly where due to access. I can’t really see much from the bottom of the vehicle and the top is obscured by all of the pipe work.

It won’t start at all now which I assume is due to the lack of fuel pressure. After trying to start there is a small puddle of diesel on the floor so it’s coming out at a fair rate.

Any more tips before I submit to the professionals?

As its your fuel pump leaking only thing i can think of fuel line connectors and VCV valve

I don’t think it’s the VCV - you can see that quite easily from above - right?
It is quite a bit lower down - either bottom of pump, which you can’t see, or something lower.
Is there anything lower that could leak fuel?

Not sure if connected but in the summer the fuel rail pressure relief valve was changed. Possibly the suction control valve was also changed. I wonder if my issues relate to that?
