Range rover classic capstan winch
I have fairey capstan winch for a 2 door range rover, does anyone have a parts manual and fitting instruction for it. I am also after the engine drive dog and drive shaft if anyone has one available.

Thanks in advance

Sorry I can't help, but that must be quite a rare piece of kit.
I never knew Fairey made a kit to fit RR until I read your post.

I found a picture here near the bottom of the thread :

Good luck with the search.
Would a Series drive dog and shaft adapt if you can't track down the original bits?

That's my hope regarding the dog and drive shaft. Yes it fits and is hidden apart from the front roller by the grill which is made quick removable.
One sold as a complete unit on fleabay a couple of months ago for £1500. Mine is new and has never been fitted.
Bought it with a load of series 1 engines /gearboxes etc. I have only just identified it as a RRC one as told it was from a series2/3but was sceptical of that claim. Just aswell got 2 door rangerovers
Also got a 10 spline Quaife ATB diff

Tolley,

Thanks for the link have already spoken to him, he is uncertain on the differences on the driveshaft and dog. If all else fails will get one from him and modify to suit ie shorten.

Cheers David
