Top Up Front Swivel Housings
Hi defender, owners this is my first entry. I have a 2008 hard top and want to top up front swivel housings with the landrover grease pack I have bought as one looks a bit dryer than the other at the top. I could do with a few pointers as I don't want to mess up! I dont know if its grease or oil in it can you mix them? Also there does not seem to be a level plug although I have heard of people using a cable tie as dipstick how much about half full? Also to get the stuff in do you need to put on full lock? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Rob369. (I just want to get out there and drive it)!

If swivels are not leaking then the oil seal between them and the diff is gone. In such case your diff oil should look darker than GL-5 oil. The one-shot grease is NGLI00, i.e. lower viscosity than normal chassis grease (NGLI2). Anyway it should be about 1/3 full. Puma 110" SW

I soak the sachet of grease in very hot water, before you use it, it makes it much easier to do Thumbs Up
