ECU reset
Hi,
I am having trouble clearing codes from my ecu using the GAP IID tool. Says update failed when trying to clear codes

Emailed GAP and they responded saying the ECU isnt communicating and first try resetting the ECU they sent a link to a Disco3 forum stating touching positive and negative leads together for 30s and then reconnecting Battery.

I have used this technique on the Range Rover but haven't heard of it being used on the Defender.

Also just wanted to check that an ECU reset wouldn't affect the remap?

Any thoughts or help gratefully apreciated
