I think I had a bad experience with RainX and it really put me off. RainX may be a lot better now, it was a while ago when I used it.

Glad I did. No smear and it is so much better in the rain. Your right, not cheap, but neither was the LR!

Thanks Thumbs Up

I use all the Gtechnic products and find them outstanding,
I highly recommend them from ceramic coatings down to tyre dressings
I’m really really fussy and only the best works for me

No one seems to have mentioned PIAA wipers. I'm sure there was a group buy couple years ago but didn't go anywhere.
I bought direct from PIAA but not cheep at £50. Very good but only lasted same time as genuine and Bosch.

Have used PIAA on various vehicles over the years and all have lasted at least 5yrs (none of my vehicles do ge miles)

Think the current ones on the Transporter are nearer 8yrs old and just getting to the point of not being as good as they should be......

I just use standard Bosch (SP13) ones as well. Cheap and work perfectly.

I change them every year as they are generally worn out after that period of time and don’t clear the screen as well.

What do you use and are they any good?

I've had a set of Bosch Aerotwin for a couple of years, they were quiet but never cleaned the 1/4 of the windscreen in front of my eyes.
Recently I bought a set of wipers from Paddocks and they're the "Iguana" brand. The clean the windscreen perfectly but screech irritatingly.

I'm after a set of wipers that are quiet and clean the windscreen. Any ideas?

Silblade are superb. long lasting very effective. love them. hard to get here but I order them in the US (very cheap) and get them sent to shipito who send on to UK (I make up a big order of US stuff and it works out cheap) 110 Defender 300tdi & Penman trailer with ally exped top and roof tent

I use the bosch aero twins but might give the supers a go next time.

Does anyone have a mod or upgrade to the washers jets themselves? Had a courtesy discovery (sport?) and it had really good fan spray jet which would go a long way to clearing the summer smorgasbord of insects..

Replace the pump with a Disco 2 headlamp washer pump. Fantastic improvement!

$80.00 WIPER BLADES?

"BFGoodrich were looking for a better solution and worked with Pylon to develop what might be the world’s first off-road wiper blade. Created specifically for Jeeps, trucks, and SUVs, these wipers are reportedly built as tough as the vehicle you drive."

" Designed with the bold tread pattern of the BFGoodrich KO2, these wiper blades look to be more than just cosmetic with a durable rubber element made for the elements you expose your overland rig to on a daily basis – whether as a daily driver or on the trails.

Functionally, it appears they’ve built a lot into a small package;

Scrub-X™ Extreme Weather Performance quickly clears away mud, bugs, rain, snow, and grime.

Heavy Duty Design with durable rubber element, made for off-road driving.

X-Flex™ Suspension for complete windshield contact.

Weather Repelling Technology repels mud, rain, snow and ice from the blade cover for superior performance.

Secure-X™ Connector for easy and secure installation

Inspired by the BFGoodrich® All-Terrain T/A® KO2 Tire tread design."

I go even cheaper. Very Happy

Wiping sand and mud from your windows is bad for the wipers so I replace them a few times a year. Roel
