Mines a 2011 too, and was also rattling at around 13k, now on 26k and still rattling. Embarassed

Daz, mine rattled it’s last rattle at the weekend. OEM clutch and thrust bearing were shagged. No more rattle or transmission wobble when I boot it Bow down 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

I've done two clutches and three adaptors in 190,000kms,I would not even think of going anywhere remote without replacing both if I was you.

Jinxing yourself alright, I'd done my first clutch and adapter at 93K, second at 140K and third adapter only at 160K.

I'd definitely have the adaptor shaft changed. I did my Morocco trip last year - and a few months later the adaptor shaft failed in the Swiss mountains (in the middle of nowhere).

No chance to move on ... no chance to have it changed over there ... a horrible story ... Neutral

That's the worst thing with the adapter shaft, once it fails it fails, you can't drive around the problem, do a road side repair nothing, it's game over. If I was keeping my TDCi long term, I'd get one made with a longer cup so I could have an internal circlip to hold it together as well as an oil seal to keep it lubed.

2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Alaska White
The clutch on my 2009 Puma 2.4 was fine for about 65,000 Kms. After which I felt it needed to be replaced because it started shuddering when trying to take off uphill. The rattle developed in the early stages, but I just ignored it and it ran fine. Finally replaced at 72,000 Kms and it made a world of difference.
