Diff Lock light not coming on
Hello, after some advice if anyone knows or has come across this before.

2010MY 2.4 Puma

Diff lock light in dash doesnt come on.

Diff lock def working and engages.

Have tried the plug on top of the t box and its all clean and good contact.

Do the switches fail? it is a push to make or break? does anyone know? Cheers

It may be an adjustment issue (switch not screwed far enough into the transfer box front output housing) or it may be that the switch is gummed up. I cant't remember if the switch is pressed or released when the diff is locked, but whichever it is it will make contact when locked.

If you short the switch wires the light should come on. If it doesn't, it's not the switch.

Will take a look. Is the switch a later model for puma or same style as tdi ones with spades on top? Cheers

Does it come on after a little bit of driving when it’s engaged?

Pressing the plunger in on the switch operates the light. The switch can be screwed in further to adjust when it operates. So possibly yoursjust needs adjusting.

Took it all out today, bridged the wires and dash light works, plunger is defunct on switch, no connection being made so replacement on order. Thank you for help, accessed from top in the end, at least I could see then!

Am I right in thinking the later style ones you just screw in tight and are non height adjustable? Cheers

Hi James,

yes no adjustment on the later ones,

if you have to you can swap the thick ali washer for a thinner one,
