Roamerdrive Temp sensor thread.
Hi,

Does anyone happen to know the thread of the temperature sensor thread in the extended transfer case sump?

I want to fit a gauge but having a little OCD I would like to fit a VDO Vision gauge which is in keeping with the original gauges.

Cheers

This is the one designed by and for the Roamerdrive unit. All you would need is an adapter to mate the electronic sensor into the drain hole in the sump cover for the VDO unit and wire it in if you wanted to go with a Vision series gauge.

That's Will's question, what's the thread in the sump.

From the pic of the mechanical gauge kit, there's an adapter used between the sump thread and their sender.

I think you would have to ask Roamerdrive for the sump's thread spec, I've looked around and can't find it specified anywhere.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

D’oh, over thought the answer for him Shocked

Worst case scenario is buy the gauge and sender that you want and just drill and tap another hole if it proves too hard to find an adapter. Thumbs Up

That capillary gauge for the roamerdrive is too fragile for my liking. Had virtually the smae Smiths gauge in my old BGT. They don’t like being moved once set up. Not a good idea for an off road vehicle. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

Thanks 4RF RDS, I had also sent a message via Facebook to them which came back with 3/8 NPT Thumbs Up

I do have the Roamerdrive gauge but do not like the fact when I mount the gauge in a mini Mud pod on top of the dash I will have to remove the capillary bulb from the transfer box sump and that it doesn't look like a O.E fit.

I am fitting a boost gauge, the standard Td5 clock (As I have a rev counter fitted) and then the temp gauge for the overdrive. All VDO vision gauges so quite pleased with that.

Cheers
